Just my opinion

I have not had a chance to comment on all those things that go on in the crazy Kenya of ours. But since i have been tempted to come out of the woodwork and defend my namesake Bishop Margaret Wanjiru but not just for the sake of name.

I will say without blinking an eye that James Kamangu Ndimu joins the list of most pathetic Kenyan individuals who think it is alright to disperse sperm and sire then claim later that "I am the father of these children" So what? That is the most ubiquitous and ignorant statement i have heard in my life.

In all these unnecessary melee of paternity, marriage or what not, somehow the patriachal society we proudly believe and sing and partake of it as if it is uji for breakfast majority of Kenyan individuals whether by sheer ignorance or utmost stupidity believe that Kamangu should have a right to his wife " sigh". Now,why not then?

So what if our acts of copulation sired children? but not to simply dismiss these acts as there was a second time. But that is the past.

I dont believe that it is right for a child to denounce his father as the Wanjiru son did, infact in all this story that was the worst thing that happened. A child cannot denounce his father period.

But apart from knowing that Kamangu the man whose partakings must be cheaper than even the changaa Wanjiru thought he takes. The damn man could even talk without shaking uncontrollably. Yet, the man seems ready to tell the whole world that he is the father of her sons. That is as far as it goes.

In any case to me, i saw the epitome of irresponsibility, the ignorance of our men and women because i will not/ refuse to understand that the father owes his sons numerous responsibilities. First as a role model and secondly as a provider. Wanjiru had provided Kamangu (if at all) with two sons. Any African man will tell you how proud that makes him. But not Kamangu. The only connection he seems to have with his sons is that of sleeping with their mother and making her pregnant. So much!

Then to add insult to injury comes some amorphous group of men declaring that Wanjiru and Kamangu must share property equally . Obviously they have no idea when this happens. Because all along these irresponsible father of two sons had this idea that perhaps Wanjiru could now make him very rich. Ooh how sweet.
Look here
I take care of your sons shilling after shilling, go to school, and now you want my property. Why lie twisting of his head looks like a very lenient sentence to that dude. I will and continue to feel those women whose husbands (claimed or otherwise) forsake them (God forbid), date and court another (leaves them) and when her life is almost complete comes to proclaim that she is my common law wife (Ashindwe mara mbili)

I am the only few that seems to agree that James Kamangu should be treated with the utmost contempt that he deserves.

Govt Clinic

I will tell you the truth the last time i was sick i went to a local city council clinic in Kasarani. Dont ask why but that was the closest of clinics i could get and my stomach was pretty messed up. Anyway this is the story;

11.00 checks into the clinic

11.30 still waiting to pay 20/= to see the doc. The clerk had gone for tea after reporting at 10 as i was told. Never mind this is a health clinic

11.45 Pays 20/= and queues like the rest of the folks to see the doc

12.00 Sees the doctor. I say hi and he asks me "Shida Iko wapi?" I almost recovered at this point. So i explain the misbehaviour of things i don't want to mention here. Given lab prescription

12.00-1.00 Waits for lab results. The lab tech tells me "please come". I heart beating because i don't particularly like being asked to get into a lab room. Thinks of last prayers

1.01- dashes to the cyber cafe to check what possible disease that could be and what it means for me and my future children. Finds out i have parasitic infection meaning i have been hosting some ungodly creatures in dear stomach

2.00 Go back to the doctor who is still out for lunch

2.30 Doctor comes and asks if anyone to see him

2.35 doctor proclaims i am free of Malaria and typhoid only those small ungodly creatures.

2.36 leaves the clinic with a heavy heart because of the said ungodly creatures and prescription

All in all i only paid 20/= and medicine 200/= not so bad for a broke ass like me and so i am healed.

But if you have to go to a city council clinic please go with a not so urgent disease otherwise you will die on the benches waiting.

That is the latest story of my life

200 post , New Year, yeah and husband crisis

Its January and its been raining the whole day. Something is not right in Kenya.

Anyway Happy New Year my good readers (assuming there is some left with all this long hiatuses). Thank you for reading for the past two years and yes this is my 200th post. So i am glad to still be blogging as a lot of them already bit the dust.

So holiday is over, and some of you are back to work but people not gainfully engaged like yours truly are learning how to be good housekeepers.
I wake up at 9 only to find out everyone else has left and there are dishes piled up in the sink which hitherto i thought washed themselves and realize they are actually mine for the washing!
Thats a story though for another day.

Husband crisis
I just met two girls discussing the husband crisis. On Christmas day, Kenya woke up to a very shocking and yet disturbing news that most girls of marriageable age (25 and over) i suppose would going to their mother's homes for xmas as opposed to their husbands. Haiyaaii now that i will be 25 this year i have actually added to their statistics Ngai fafa,

Maybe someone should actually define what this crisis mean :whither
No men to marry at all
The ones who are available are not yet ready to marry
All the marriageable ones are already married
There are no enough men justifying the 6:1 ratio which could have increased

However my theory is and still will be

  1. A lot of our men are in prisons & others have died in the hands of police. Crime in kenya is mainly a preserve of men though i dont say women commit crimes but count those out. Thats if they hadnt married before their confinement or death
  2. Brain drain=Men drain: single women are not very eligible for visas unfortunately. Count those men out if they go and marry the women they find elsewhere
  3. Infant mortality: so many young boys die in their infancy. Count those out
  4. The ever elusive Y chromosome

So now apart from that there is the high expectations posed by our women. They are singing everywhere

I love you for your pink cadillac and no romance without finance.

So for that i recommend immediate banning of mexican, spanish soaps and others like that.

But anywho who is worried. Si we are looking forward to reducing our population, the lesser marriages the lesser the population. No i didnt say that.

New year resolutions

So far i have two

  1. Learn to make chapattis
  2. Quit that drink

So peace be with you and Keep your noses clean 2007

Happy blogging
